Mission (Statement) Possible

By | Copywriting | No Comments

Cue the Mission Impossible theme tune! We all love a good Tom Cruise movie, really anything with some action, adventure and that will keep us on the edge of our seat. The Mission Impossible film(s) are great, but I’m heading into my mission knowing it is entirely possible. So my last post talked about writing a tagline, and used examples from Nike and L’Oréal to illustrate just how to do it. This blog will work the same way, except for mission statements. I believe the absolute key to writing a mission statement that, not just sounds good, but actually WORKS is communication. You’re talking directly to each and every one of your stakeholders, so the statement must be written in such a way that each group understands it and feels that it means something to them. How to Win a Game of Tag(line)

By | Copywriting | No Comments

See this scar? I got that from my last game of tag. Whether or not that qualifies me to deliver a masterclass on the age-old game of tag remains to be seen. But just not today, sorry! So let’s go over a few things to get you some quick results!   Do some research and find the best tags to use. In the search bar start typing in hashtags relevant to your business. When they populate, look for the most popular ones and then start collecting those tags in a document you can get easy access to no matter where you are.   You can see in this yoga post that they didn’t just…

$200m for a soccer player?!

By | Marketing, Nathan's personal posts | No Comments

It’s summer over here in the U.K. (yes, they do happen from time to time) which, as a soccer fan, means just one thing – the soccer summer transfer window is open! Cue radical rumours, possessed agents, and eye-watering fees. This year’s market started much the same as every other, with everyone ready for an entertaining, yet rather predictable, few months.   But then…   On 4th August 2017 French club PSG triggered the release clause in Brazilian player Neymar’s contract, setting up his transfer for a fee of – actually you should probably take a seat right about now – $260m! That works out at about £200m! A slap in the face Release clauses are built into a player’s contract as a deterrent – a ‘take your eyes off our player’ slap in the face. But the world record figure did not put off Paris Saint Germain. And truthfully,…
